This new practice boosts our capabilities and enables us to provide more holistic strategic advice to brands. As a stand-alone PR agency within one of the world’s marketing powerhouses we constantly look to integrate services and provide greater benefit to our clients. Through Ogilvy PR Sport we will deliver in-depth understanding of the many facets of sports marketing and sponsorship to all our existing and new clients. Jonathan McCallum, Head of Ogilvy PR Sport, Ogilvy Public Relations/London said:
“I am very excited to be joining Ogilvy PR/London and bringing new insight and opportunities to its clients. Ogilvy PR Sport will unite brands and sports, allowing clients to effectively integrate sports properties within their communication programmes in a measurable and tangible way, by adding value to the fan experience. Put simply, making sports fans, fans of brands. Sport creates experiences that can unite, inspire, or even change people’s lives and is therefore a powerful platform to use in PR.”
Jonathan McCallum joined the Ogilvy Group in 2005, where he was Director of Sponsorship for OgilvyAction. Prior to his appointment as head of Ogilvy PR Sport, his main focus was on global brand communications, with an emphasis on sport for Statoil, Motorola, Coral, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Barclays, Caterpillar, Sega and UPS.
Brian Bell, Managing Director, Wilson Hartnell said:
“While sponsorship remains at its heart, over the years our practice has expanded to work right across the sporting spectrum in Ireland. Today WH is not only involved in sponsorships both large and small but also works directly with sportsmen and women, sporting governing bodies, sports specific brands and key areas of the country’s sporting infrastructure. Our team is widely recognised by athletes, clients and media alike, as having a real understanding of sport, which has become ever more important with the advent of social media, where clients use sport to have a meaningful dialogue with their consumers.”
